3. Naturalization of Spain
This method of naturalization is arbitrary and does not depend on general regulations on administrative procedures. Naturalization will be permitted by the Government through the Royal Decree, after assessing all the special circumstances of the person concerned.
Citizens of Spanish citizenship by mode of option, residence or naturalization will:

Sworn or promised loyalty to the King and conforms to the Constitution and the law (for persons over 14 years of age and competent to sworn)
Declares the renunciation of nationality, unless the person is a citizen of a Spanish or Portuguese speaking country or a citizen of Andorra, Philippines, Equatorial Guinea or Portugal.
4. Naturalization of Spain because of the Spanish nationality

Persons who have carried and used Spanish nationality for ten consecutive years in good faith, on the basis of their registration at the Spanish Civil Service Office, shall be entitled to apply for Spanish citizenship. Spanish citizenship is not lost even if the registration is canceled at the Civil Registry. In the course of the Spanish nationality, the person concerned must have an active attitude towards the carrying and use of Spanish nationality, which means that the person concerned must behave as a spaniard exercise their rights and obligations to the organs of the Spanish State.

Where to apply

The dossier is filed and resolved at the Civil Registry where the person concerned resides.

5. Loss of citizenship

Spanish citizens lose citizenship when:

Is liberated to live independently, reside abroad and voluntarily acquire another citizenship. This loss of nationality can be avoided by holding the Spanish citizenship for a period of three years from the expiry of the legal guardian’s term. Naturalization of Spanish or Portuguese-speaking countries or countries of Andorra, Philippines, Equatorial Guinea or Portugal does not constitute a sufficient reason for loss of nationality.
Is liberated to live independently, reside abroad and only use the citizenship available before the termination of guardianship for three consecutive years. This loss of nationality can be avoided by holding the Spanish citizenship for a period of three years from the expiry of the legal guardian’s term.
Spanish citizens have been freed to live independently, hold another nationality, permanently reside abroad and voluntarily renounce their Spanish nationality.
In the case of Spanish citizens born abroad and having Spanish nationality on the basis of the nationality of the parent who is also born abroad, he / she will lose his / her Spanish nationality if he or she does not hold the Spanish citizenship in three years from the date of adolescence or liberation to self-reliance.
Spanish nationals who are not original Spanish citizens (for example, naturalized citizens) will lose their Spanish nationality if:

After being naturalized in Spain, he is still employed within the three years of naturalization he has renounced as a Spanish citizen
When the Spanish government has explicitly banned but voluntarily joined the military or held political positions in a foreign government
When there is a verdict of a deceased, deceitful or fraudulent person in the acquisition of Spanish citizenship.
6.  How to return to nationality

Having lost his Spanish nationality, he still has the opportunity to return to Spanish nationality. The conditions for return are as follows:

The person has legal residence in Spain. However, this rule does not apply to Hispanic immigrants and their children. In addition, the Department of Justice may also waive this requirement for special cases.
You must take the oath before the person in charge of the Office of Civil Rights to return to Spain.
The return of nationality must be recorded civil status.
When is the need for government permission to return to Spanish nationality?

Persons who have been of Spanish nationality but are not Spanish nationals who have lost their Spanish nationality in the following circumstances will need the permission of the Government to return to Spanish nationality:

Those who use only the three years of nationality they have sworn to give up when they acquire Spanish citizenship.
When the Spanish government has explicitly banned but voluntarily joined the military or held political positions in a foreign government
When there is a verdict of a deceased, deceitful or fraudulent person in the acquisition of Spanish citizenship.
